The Tian-Shan mountains rise defiantly over Ala-Too Square. When turning a street corner in Bishkek, you'll often find an awe inspiring, cluster of snow capped peak to fill your field of view. Long time residents are puzzled by flatlanders who stare with jaws dropped. "We grew up here and stopped noticing years ago".
